[KR] Seoul - Day 9 & 10

Day 9

Last full day in Seoul, so we had to make full use of it to visit places that we have yet to visit in our list. Our first itinerary for the day was supposed to be watching the guard changing ceremony but due to bad weather it was cancelled. So, we went for lunch first!

We went into this really small shop and was surprised with what they served! It was just simple Korean dishes but tasted really good!

The Kimchi fried rice was the BEST!

Went back to Deoksugung to check out the place and take photos with the guards. We thought we could also try on the Hanbok but the size that they provide, were too huge for us!

Since there was still time before the next guard changing ceremony, we bought coffee and waffles from Limburg.

Guess who we bumped into? It's PORORO! (The guy in black is cute :*)

The guard changing ceremony lasted for quite some time. (About 20 minutes)

Left for Insadong after the ceremony and we met this really kind Korean girl on the way as we got lost. She walked to Isadong with us as she was heading there as well!

At Isadong, walking down the long road, you can buy souvenirs, traditional snacks and etc!

Saw Ssamziegil and took a walk around the mall. The levels are connected in a way where you don't have to use the staircase to go up or down a level. There's a "shit cafe" on the top floor where you eat shit....

Bought a shit pancake to try! It's actually just chocolate pancake.

Shop names in Isadong are all in Hangul!

Found our way to the CheongGyeCheon Stream and disaster strike within minutes of arrival. Dropped my phone and it died on the spot. T_T

Luckily, I still had my camera with me to take photos. I was holding onto my camera like it was my life because I fear that it would fall to its death too. T_T

I'm really someone with no luck with my gadgets during trips. My phone died during my previous trip too...

After a long walk along the stream, we found our way to the train station and took a train to Chungmuro station where we will switch to a bus and head to Namsan Tower.

Direction:
Namsan Sunhwan Shuttle Bus No. 05
Chungmuro Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 2 (in front of Daehan Cinema).

*There are also many other ways to go to Namsan, but this was the one we chose.

Reached this beautiful place at evening time where we saw a different side of Seoul.

Is it not obvious enough that this was our pose of the trip? haha

We went up to the observatory deck where there was really nothing much to see.... Not recommended since you have to queue for a good 30-40 minutes to go up and another 30-40 minutes to come down.

You can also get post cards and get it posted to your friends/family or even yourself!

Before ending our day, we went to Lotte Mart where were buy instant noodles, snacks and Kimchi which are only available in Korea!

Day 10

Initial plan was to hike the Bukhansan Mountain but we failed since we only have about till evening. We went back to EWha University (YES AGAIN) for lunch and do last minute shopping!

Lunch was at Andong Jjimdak! Its like braised chicken, vermicelli and vegetables in a pot!

Walked around till late noon and went back to our apartment for the last time... On the way, we bought macarons from Mariwhale Macaron. The shop is near Hongik University Station, exit 5. It cost only 900 won per piece!

Reluctantly, packed our luggage and head to the airport T_T

I went home with 2 luggage + 1 box (FOOD). Our luggage actually exceeded the weight limit but the kind staff let us pass. #thankful

All in all, I'm really thankful for my travel buddies! It must have been hard for them to tolerate my PMS and weirdness and etc. Really thankful to be able to travel with them and being able to experience Seoul together. Luckily for us, we also managed to return back to Singapore just before the outbreak of Mers in Korea. I'm already looking forward to my next trip to Korea. For the next trip, I hope to travel to different province and experience Korea in another way! Till then. xx

[KR] Seoul - Day 8

Had Ja Jang Myeon for lunch again despite having it for dinner just the previous night. Yes, we loved it that much!

After our lunch, we left for the Han River. The Han River is my favourite place to visit. It was so chilling and relaxing. The weather was really good, not too sunny and was windy! Rented bikes from the kiosk which could be easily found. However, communication was a little hard here as the people only speak in Korean. Nevertheless, we still managed to get our bikes!

The Han River is really huge so we only cycled around the Yeouido area.

Han River
Directions:
Yeouinaru Station (Line 5,9) Exit 2,3

Wind was so strong, I could barely open my eyes. My eyes was shut in most pictures. Haha.

Pretty flowers along the path~

Can't help but to compare Singapore's East coast park/Pasir ris park to Han River. The one big difference between the places was that Han River was litter free. Despite not having that many bins or cleaners around, it was VERY clean!

Settled down for a mini picnic + monopoly deal. Upon taking this shot, we realized that we should have bought more FOOD.

We went back to Hong dae for dinner and chanced upon this Korean BBQ buffet on the streets! Decided to go for it since it wasn't too expensive. Less than $20 SGD! They had a rule that with any food wasted, fines had to be paid. So us being greedy,  we over took as usual and we succumb to packing the food into a black bag to leave no evidence of food wastage...

Took a short rest at our apartment before we went out to club! We actually planned to go for the Club Day but while we were on the way, we saw nb2 which was really crowded and decided to go for it instead. It wasn't the best choice honestly. There was so many people, we didn't even managed to get into the dance floor. There was also lots of foreigners in here! Music wise, it was still Big Bang/GD's song that would make the crowd go wild!
