[TH] Bangkok - Day 3 & 4

Day 3

Joined the half day tour thinking that we will be visiting the floating market but i'm wrong! I thought i could have those mango sticky rice/pad thai on the boat kinda thing but nope. Just sat on the boat and some other boats will go near you to sell souvenirs -_-

The highlight of the tour is that we could try on Thai costumes! If i didn't remember wrongly, its 200 Baht! The person there will help you to wear the clothes, accessories and the super heavy head gear. Sadly, my sister couldn't take a nice picture of me in the costume. T.T

On the way back to end our tour, we were told to buy bread and feed the fishes to help the family there which we didn't mind! It was kinda fun too!

Ended our half day tour at some jewelry shop before having our lunch in a shop beside Sabx2 wanton mee. Wanted to let my grandma try Sabx2 wanton but it was closed, such spoiler! It wasn't a bad choice either anyway! Food was good, price is cheap! Just that they serve pretty slow. Our grumbling stomach couldn't wait!

Went back and chill at Novotel's sky bar since we had complimentary drinks!

Dinner was at MK Gold, not too sure why i didn't take photos of the rest and only the duck! IT WAS DELISH~!

Walked around the basement of Siam Paragon and found Bonca! Who can resist a minion macaron ice cream?? I KENOT!

Heard about the bombings from our friends/relative while we were having dinner and we didn't even know about it when we were so near to the area! We waited quite about 1.5-2 hours before we could grab a taxi back to the hotel. During the wait, it was torturous.. the sound of siren, the ambulance/police car driving pass and security guards walking the ground.... was really scary. Really thank all the gods for letting us get back to the hotel and Singapore safely!

Day 4

Got a surprise cake from the hotel because my birthday was around the corner! Cake tasted really bad but appreciate the effort!

Went back to the sky bar to take more photos before leaving for the airport. Always help my sister take really pretty pictures but she can't do it for me! ARGH!

Love this chicken rice served on board... i had 2 servings haha

Till my next wanderlust trip,

PS: In just 2 weeks time. ;)

[TH] Bangkok - Day 2

Started the day at 7AM to shop at the Pratunam Morning Market. It's one of my favorite place in Bangkok despite not having the luxury of air-con! I can really find cheap steals by digging and combing all the stores! #DoNotLetTheHotWeatherDeterYou

Yummy sweet potato & banana fritters. My Grandma loves them! A pity i didn't get to see the BBQ Chicken sticks this trip... :(

Went back to our hotel for breakfast before heading out to Yaowarat aka Chinatown for more shopping!

In our matching backpacks bought at the Siam Night Market on the previous day!

Yaowarat is a place that feels more like home. People around can be heard speaking in Chinese and Dialects! They have really CHEAP accessories. FYI: My sister bought dozens of necklace and earrings back!

DO NOT VISIT: Nam Sing Restaurant

We got malign into pay for $40 a bowl instead of the $8 a bowl bird nest. We ended up paying about $200 for the total bill which was a total rip off. -_- This is not the first time we visited the restaurant and was the first time encountering such incident. DEFINITELY NOT recommended and everyone should avoid! Honestly, food is good therefore we revisit during every Bangkok trip. But after this incident, it is a BIG NO NO!

Went back to our Hotel to drop our loots from Yaowarat before heading to Platinum Mall for round 2 of shopping for the day!

Back to our hotel to drop our loots again from Platinum Mall before heading out to Siam area for dinner! Took the FREE Tuk-tuk service our hotel provided for their guests!

Walked to Inter Restaurant from Siam Paragon for dinner. I was googling for a place to eat for dinner and saw Ladyirochef's blog post on it so we were there for dinner!

Food was cheap and really good! May have slight difficulty communicating as the waiter/waitress do not speak English. Basil chicken and the Tom Yum soup was spicy but taste was really SHIOK ah! (Probably my tolerance for spicy food is too low??)

[TH] Bangkok - Day 1

Date of Travel - 15th August to 18th August

Our flight was delayed for 2.5 hours due to bad weather conditions at Hong Kong and since we had time to spare, we explored Changi Aiport! Surprisingly, there are various things that can be done during the wait!

1) Do duty free shopping
Bought a blush brush from Etude House and eye cream from Innisfree at a lower price as compared to retail stores outside of the airport.

2) Play games
Played this game where i'm supposed to match the shapes of different luggage bags. At first it was kinda boring but as you advance into other levels where the speed gets faster, you start to be more competitive! Yeap, thats my face on the huge screen for getting a good score. Haha.

Every boarding pass entitle you some tokens to play the UFO Catcher. Even my grandma enjoyed the game when she caught a capsule! The vouchers inside the capsule are for you to use for shopping but honestly, the voucher are of no use to me.

3) EAT
Due to the delay, each of us were given $20/$30(Can't remember the exact amount) for food. We had our lunch at Peach Garden Noodle House. Food was great! Love those crispy pancakes with red bean!

Our flight was via Cathay Pacific. Bought our tickets during their promotion so we paid less than $200 per ticket!

Our hotel was at Novotel Bangkok Platinum. It is just above Platinum mall 2 and right beside Platinum mall! We paid about $200 each which includes airport transfer.

Our first stop of the trip was Dinner at Sansab Restaurant, located on the 4th floor of Siam Paragon.

Saw AroiMakMak's post about the Tom Yum UFO and we decided that we need to eat it! The Tom Yum soup in the middle is quite spicy but with a drink, it will be fine! Honestly, we went there for the hype so i doubt i will be visiting again since i already have a picture on my Instagram feed. :P

After Dinner is dessert time at Kyo Roll En on GF of Siam Paragon.

The mochi dropped while i took my ice-cream and the kind staff replaced it for me seeing how i was snapping my ice cream! It was $4+ for the ice-cream, quite pricey but I'm a sucka for desserts so just take my money~

After dessert, we walked around Siam Night Market before we called it the night!
